Who will be my Housing Specialist at CDCLI?

As the 12/1 transition date nears or actions are required by participants, they will be assigned a Housing Specialist.

Will my landlord continue to get paid?

Yes, landlord payments will continue to be made timely.

Will the HCV Program rules change with CDCLI?

No, since the HCV program is administered by NYS Department of Homes and Community Renewals, both Nassau County and CDCLI follow the same administrative procedures. Please note there may be slight changes in process, but the administrative rules surrounding the program requirements and eligibility remain unchanged.

If I have an emergency maintenance issue, who do I contact?

For all emergency maintenance items occurring prior to 12/1/22, contact your landlord and contact Nassau County. For any maintenance items (emergency or not) as of 12/1/22, please contact CDCLI.

My annual re-certification, move in, inspection, etc. is coming up between now and the end of the year, who do I contact?

Re-Certifications: Due between now and 12/31/22, please contact Nassau County. Due after 1/1/23, CDCLI will be sending out communications related to your re-certification. If I am a current Nassau County or Town of Hempstead Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participant, do I need to do anything right now?

CDCLI will be working directly with participants who have a January 1st or later recertification date. If you need to recertify PRIOR to January 1st, continue to work with Nassau County. If you have a question or concern about your current rental unit, continue to work directly with Nassau County.
