What help can CDCLI provide? Who is eligible?
CDCLI offers 5,948 vouchers that it administers on behalf of the New York State Homes & Community Renewal (HCR). Vouchers are available to income-eligible applicants who are chosen for the waiting list during designated application periods. In addition, CDCLI administers 496 vouchers for homeless veterans on behalf of HCR.
CDCLI also works in partnership with two tax credit senior complexes, Woodcrest Estates in Port Jefferson Station and Brookview Commons in Deer Park. In addition to leasing up HCV tenants in their units, these complexes have 60 project based units, where the subsidy is tied to the unit rather than to the family. At these complexes, we also provide resident services coordination, offering assistance to the seniors in applications for Federal and State assistance programs and other general needs faced by the population. We also work in partnership with Conifer Village (15 project-based units) and Accabonac Apartments (25 project-based units) to recertify project-based tenants. In July 2016, Concern Ronkonkoma, a 59-unit supportive and affordable housing project opened. CDCLI administers 8, 2 bedroom project-based units for low-income families. Each complex maintains its own wait list for residency.
