CDC of Long Island’s Third Annual Lenders Forum, sponsored by People’s United Bank, was held on Feb 15, where Long Island’s key financial leaders discussed residential and small business capital trends. Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone gave the keynote address sharing his vision for the county’s economic development. Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone along with other officials presented Samantha Garvey, the homeless teen who was a semi-finalist in the Intel Science competition, and her family, the keys to their new home Saturday afternoon in Bay Shore, NY. CDC President & CEO Marianne Garvin announced that CDC will be donating all materials necessary to help make home more energy efficient. John Bandalos of Wise Choice Home improvement is donating his labor to help the family lower their utility costs.
