CDC is a private not-for-profit, housing, community development, and economic development corporation. CDC has nearly four decades of experience serving low- and moderate-income families and individuals.
In 1969, a group of concerned residents from the business, government, religious and civil rights communities addressed the growing demand for nondiscriminatory affordable housing opportunities and community and economic development. Nearly 40 years later, CDC employs over 80 people, serves both Nassau and Suffolk counties, and provides a variety of programs and services to address the dynamic challenges faced by those who live and work on Long Island.
Since its inception, CDC has assisted more than 50,000 Long Islanders and invested over $628 million into their communities.
